*I hope he's ok. I haven't seen or heard from him in 4 days. Why do I care
so much anyways?* Jonathan thought this for the hundreth time. Jack was the only thing on his mind in the past days. Only one person came in,2 days after he saw Jack, for a session.
They didn't come back.
He sighed as he got in the elavator and rode from the 6 floor to the cafe for some coffee.
When he walked into the cafe he wanted to kick himself.
Jim Norris was blabbing loudly to the other therapists. He wasn't just
blabbing about nothing. NO, he was blabbing about Jonathan.
"So the guy smiles at Crane and starts hugging him and puts his hand in
his pocket!" Jim laughed.
"How do you know it's not his brother or something?" Another said.
*Wow. Someone is actually sticking up for me?* Crane thought as he paid for his coffee.
As he left the cafe he hear Jim say:
"Nah, I always knew Crane was queer."
He qlenched his fist but continued his way to the elevator.
*He isn't worth it.*
Walking down the hall, Jonathan stopped when he saw his office door was a
foot open.
*I could have sworn I locked it.* He thought as he slowly approached the door.
He opened the door all the way and stared in shock.
Lying across the couch was Jack. His heart beat quickened.
He closed the door quietly then walked over to the couch and looked down
at him. He frowned at Jacks new black eye.
His eyes shot open and he looked up at Jonathan then smiled happily.
"Hey. It was open so I came in." He said.
Crane nodded and offered his coffee to him. He sat up and scooted over so
Jonathan could sit with him, then took the coffee.
"How have you been?" Jonathan asked.
"Ok."
Jonathan raised a brow and looked at his black eye.
"Well not exactly ok."
"What happened?"
"That gang caught up with me and kicked my ass. Took all the money you
gave me."
"Ah, thats why you didn't call."
"Yeah and I would've come back earlier but I was laying low."
"Sound like a spy." Jonathan mused.
"Yeah I kinda do huh?" He laughed.
They sat like that for a while, not talking. Just enjoying the others company.
Out of the corner of his eye Jonathan kept seeing Jacks head dip down then
back up, trying not to fall asleep.
He was going to get up and let him sleep on the couch when Jack grabbed
the small pillow beside him, set it on Jonathans lap, streth out then lay his head on it.
Crane sat uncomfortably and slowly relaxed as Jack fell asleep.
*Now what?*
As he slept, Jonathan ran his hands through his greasy hair. He should have been grossed out but he wasn't.
He looked at the clock. 5:50pm it read.
*No one is going to come in the next 10 minutes.* He thought.
Hooking his arms beneath Jacks legs and back, he picked him up and left the office locking it behind him.
---------------------------------------
Crane hissed as he knicked his finger with the knife he was using to cut the steak. No, he didn't make the steak. The only thing he could cook were noodles.
"Jonathan?" A voice whispered.
He turned to see Jack standing there with a blanket wrapped around him.
"Hey." He replied.
He set 2 plates of steak, noodles, and vegtables on the flimsy dinner table along with 2 big glasses of milk.
"Have a seat."
Jack sat down and started eating quickly.
Crane smiled and started on his own plate.
After eating, they settled onto the couch and watched TV.
Jack wasn't watching the TV though, he was watching Jonathan.
"What?" Jonathan asked.
"Why did you bring me here."
"I can't just let you get your ass kicked and rot out there. You can take a shower."
"Ok."
They both stood and Jonathan showed him to the bathroom. He showed Jack
where the shampoo and conditioner was, handed him a comb, tooth brush, and a razor, then got him a clean change of clothes.
Jack came out of the bathroom and hour later looking much better then
before. His hair was no longer knotted and greasy and the blonde mustache he had was shaved off making him look younger and cleaner.
He sat next to Jonathan on the couch again and leaned against him,
offering some of his blanket to him.
Jonathan thought with amusement that if those girls from the coffee shop saw them right now, they would be sqealing. He realized that to someone else, right now with them snuggled up under the blanket, they would look
like a couple.
Jack fell asleep in a matter of minutes so Jonathan carried him to the
spare bedroom and slipped Jack underneath the covers. He left then went to
his room where he collapsed onto his bed and fell asleep almost immediatly.
In the middle of the night, Jonathan woke up to find Jack's arms wrapped around him.
"What the hell?" He whispered.
Jacks eyes cracked open and he tightened his arms around Jonathan.
"Why are you in my bed?" Jonathan whispered again.
Jack shrugged as best as he could then to silence Cranes next question he
kissed his lips lightly.
"I got scared."
Jonathan smiled and nodded.
Jack buried his face into Cranes chest and both smiled in comfort as sleep
took over again.

Just the other day, someone put our plane engine in upside-down. And there was only one tool in the galaxy that could fix it. And it was in Madagascar. So the tower instructed the pilots to leave us in the terminal until we all die a natural death.

The only reason Jonathan Crane carries a briefcase instead of a purse is because he's a doctor - and he knows it, too!
